Conference and Events Manager – JAG Hotel | Hotel Operations

Sarah Hamlyn is the Conference and Events Manager at JAG Hotel, having joined the organization in 2022 and stepping into her current role in 2025. With a strong foundation in front-line operations and leadership, Sarah progressed from front desk roles at JAG Hotel to Front Desk Supervisor, and later to an interim Assistant Manager position at The Capital Hotel. Her background reflects a steady growth within the organization and a deep understanding of guest experience and hotel operations.

Raised in Twillingate, Newfoundland and Labrador, Sarah developed an early appreciation for tourism and hospitality, as the industry plays a central role in the community. She began working in hospitality as a teenager and continued throughout her Bachelor of Commerce studies, alongside work terms in energy, government, and the technology sector. After graduation, Sarah further expanded her experience by managing restaurant and event operations for an upscale Italian wine bar in Ontario before returning to St. John’s. She assumed the Conference and Events Manager role at JAG Hotel as the property’s new 14,000-square-foot event space commenced, and has since been instrumental in delivering large-scale events, building strong client relationships, and contributing to the continued success of JAG’s conference and events business.
