Mike Donovan

Technical Director - JAG Soundhouse | Brigus Productions

Mike Donovan is the Technical Director at JAG Soundhouse, having joined the organization in 2025. With nearly two decades of experience in the entertainment industry, Mike brings extensive technical and creative expertise across a wide range of live production environments. A lighting technician and designer by training, he has worked in nearly every aspect of entertainment production, spanning theatre, dance, live music, corporate events, and television. His career highlights include senior technical leadership roles in professional theatre, touring and festival productions, live sports entertainment, and large-scale event operations, as well as serving as On-Board Production Manager for an international cruise line.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Stagecraft from Memorial University and maintains numerous industry certifications in lighting, audio, rigging, and production systems. He is a long-time contributor to major festivals and live events in Newfoundland and Labrador, including consistent technical leadership roles with the Iceberg Alley Performance Tent Festival. Originally from the Goulds with strong ties to Petty Harbour, Mike now lives in Mount Pearl with his wife and daughter. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, being active in his church, and reading.
