HR Coordinator | Steele Hotels

Ella Smith is a Human Resources Coordinator with Steele Hotels, having joined the organization in September 2024 as a Human Resources Intern. During her time with the company, Ella completed two co-op work terms and continued supporting the HR team part-time while completing her academic semesters. Following graduation, she transitioned into the Human Resources Coordinator role.

Ella began her HR career in the marine and shipbuilding sector, where she completed her first co-op work term and developed a strong foundation in human resources operations and workplace practices.

In May 2026, Ella earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Co-op) with a focus in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations from Memorial University, along with a Certificate in Criminology.

Outside of work, Ella is an active volunteer with St. John’s SPCA and Ronald McDonald House of Newfoundland. She enjoys spending time with friends and family and values opportunities to give back to organizations that support community well-being.
