Jean Sparkes
Payroll and Benefits Manager | Steele Hotels
Jean Sparkes is the Payroll and Benefits Manager, having joined the organization in July 2024. She brings extensive experience in payroll, benefits administration, and human resources across restaurant, retail, industrial, and hospitality environments. Throughout her career, Jean has supported organizations with full-cycle payroll processing, benefits administration, and HR coordination, working closely with leadership teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Her professional background includes payroll and HR roles with organizations such as Freedom Foods, Scotia Recycling, and the Bennett Group, as well as operational leadership positions in national retail organizations.
Jean is a Payroll Certified Practitioner (PCP) through the National Payroll Institute and holds a Diploma in Accounting and Human Resources from Eastern College. Known for her attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement, Jean is motivated by opportunities to make a meaningful impact, learn new things, and find innovative solutions while working with great people in a positive workplace culture. Outside of work, she enjoys crochet, crafting, running, and staying active, and has previously volunteered on the Row for Heart committee in support of the Health Care Foundation.
