Steele Hotels is looking for a Wellness Centre Receptionist to join our growing team at JAG Hotel in St. John’s, NL.

As a Receptionist at the JAG’s Wellness Centre, you will be the first welcoming face guests see when they arrive. You’ll greet visitors, provide any towels, linens or supplies required, assist with bookings and inquiries, and share your expertise on our products and services. You’ll also ensure a smooth experience by processing payments and maintaining a serene, organized reception area. Your role is key in creating a relaxing, inviting atmosphere for all who visit.

 

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Properly open and close the Wellness Centre each day according to Standard Operating Procedures
  • Accurately book, change and cancel Wellness Centre appointments from guests by phone or in person
  • Acknowledge and greet everyone who enters and leaves the Wellness Centre facility
  • Provide detailed descriptions of Wellness Centre treatments, packages, services, facility features and hours of operation
  • Accept POS payments, i.e., cash, credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, and mobile payments
  • Actively promote the Wellness Centre, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or markdowns available
  • Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction
  • Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked and well-organized work area
  • Ensure robes and towels are folded and packaged to JAG standards
  • Assist in all areas of Wellness Centre operation as requested by management
  • Communicate to management any and all occurrences involving staff or guests in the Wellness Centre that require attention
  • Assist in all areas of Wellness Centre operation, as requested by management

 

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

  • Experience in customer service is required
  • A certificate or diploma in Office/Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality Management, or a related discipline is an asset
  • Aesthetics experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of booking systems is an asset
  • Ability to work without direct supervision
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, as well as basic computer knowledge
  • Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Required to be on your feet 80-100% of your shift
  • Ability to perform extensive walking, bending, kneeling, lifting to 25lbs, reaching, and stretching
  • Must be able to work shifts, days, evenings, weekends and holidays
