Glynmill Inn is seeking a full-time permanent Front Desk Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate would possess a positive “can-do” attitude and, a high level of professionalism, coupled with a strong work ethic, critical thinking skills, and an eye for details. This position will report directly to the General Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises day-to-day operations of the front desk team to ensure compliance with all operating procedures and confidentiality
- Oversees check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all financial transactions are in compliance with operating procedures
- Supervises staffing levels to ensure guest satisfaction and financial objectives are met. This would include hiring, training, and scheduling of all front desk agents
- Books reservations, handles group bookings and bus tours, and daily reporting duties of the general office
- Assists in overall supervision of meetings/banquets when required
- Anticipates and handles any guest requests and concerns/complaints to satisfy their needs within acceptable guidelines.
- Compiles and maintains a guest database with loyalty programs, special requests, etc.
- Implements and monitors all brand marketing programs
- Implements incentive programs to assure employee motivation
- Checks and controls room reservations, yield management, front office systems, supplies inventory, scheduling, forecasting, and department budget to maximize revenue
- Orders supplies, inventory control, and weekly/monthly compiling and reporting of inventory
- Performs guest room and meeting room inspections, which requires bending, stooping, reaching overhead, and moving throughout guest floors
- Assists in overall supervision of other and reports back any problems, questions, and concerns
- Acts as Manager on Duty when the General Manager or Assistant Manager are not on site, every second weekend, and when necessary, and acts as the liaison between the General Manager and staff
- Performs other duties as requested by management
Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:
- Either: (1) A two-year degree from an accredited school in hotel & restaurant management, business administration or finance-related background; (2) Three-five years of office supervisor experience or high-level administrative experience OR (3) Equivalent hotel experience
- Excellent leadership, supervisory, and team-building skills
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Productivity with multitasking, prioritizing, and time management
