Steele Hotels is looking for a Front Desk Agent to join our team at The Capital Hotel, located in St. John’s, NL.

Are you looking to enter the hospitality industry or maybe looking to change careers? Come join our team We are looking to hire a Front Desk Agent / Night Auditor to help us keep growing. If you’re hard-working and dedicated, Steele Hotels may be the right fit for you. We are looking for someone to join our team as soon as possible!

You will require a sound knowledge of computers, preferably in a hotel setting. Skills such as keyboarding, telephone/switchboard use, and a positive disposition are essential. The successful candidate must be able to respond well under pressure, respond well under time restraints, able to converse well, be reliable, dependable and able to multitask.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests upon arrival, check them in and provide them with any information they need to enjoy their stay
  • Respond to guest complaints, requests and emergencies
  • Reconcile all accounts in a timely manner and verify all end of day cash etc. from multiple departments and learning/working overnight audit shifts when required
  • Ensure invoices are accurate and sent to Accounts department
  • Schedule guest wake-up calls and book reservations
  • Verify reservations and guest requests
  • Respond to guest inquiries, concerns and issues as needed
  • Answer phones, and other duties, as required

 

Hours: 12 hour shifts – Set Schedule (84 hours bi-weekly)

 

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and math skills
  • 2+ years’ experience in customer service or hospitality
  • Able to learn computer functions and other on-the-job skills
  • Strong eye for details
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Solid customer service skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, plus one year of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
