Founded in 1970, Steele Hotels is an independent hotel operator based out of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada. With origins in Gander, NL the company has grown to include 8 properties located in St. John’s, NL, Corner Brook, NL, and Fredericton, NB.

Steele Hotels is looking for a Cleaner to join our growing team at JAG Hotel in St. John’s, NL The ideal candidate would possess a positive “can-do” attitude, and a high level of professionalism, coupled with a strong work ethic and attention to detail. This often involves working in fast-paced environment conditions at varying times throughout the day or night.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

· Clean and polish floors using a broom, mop, and appropriate cleaning supplies

· Dust all furniture and high touch surfaces

· Vacuum carpets, area rugs, curtains, and upholstered furniture

· Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances

· Monitor soap, paper towel, and tissue levels of bathrooms, replenishing, as needed

· Manage and report any lost and found items

· Remove debris and empty waste bins

· Wash windows, walls, and ceilings

· Clean changing rooms, shower areas, gym areas, and pool areas within the fitness/wellness center

· When required, respond to customer complaints or concerns

· Demonstrate a professional and positive presentation to guests and colleagues, and be well groomed

· Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

· Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or a related field is preferred

· Familiarity with effective cleaning techniques, as well as safety and sanitation standards

· Comfortable working around a swimming pool, hot tub, and cold plunge area

· Exceptional attention to detail and observational skills

· Strong organizational abilities and effective time management skills

· A customer-focused attitude coupled with a spirit of cooperation and teamwork

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
