Founded in 1970, Steele Hotels is an independent hotel operator based out of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada. With origins in Gander, NL the company has grown to include 8 properties located in St. John’s, NL, Corner Brook, NL, and Fredericton, NB.

Steele Hotels is looking for a Cleaner to join our growing team at JAG Hotel in St. John’s, NL The ideal candidate would possess a positive “can-do” attitude, and a high level of professionalism, coupled with a strong work ethic and attention to detail. This often involves working in fast-paced environment conditions at varying times throughout the day or night.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
• Clean and polish floors using a broom, mop, auto scrubbing machine, and appropriate cleaning supplies
• Dust all furniture and high touch surfaces
• Vacuum carpets, area rugs, curtains, and upholstered furniture
• Clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances
• Monitor soap, paper towel, and tissue levels of bathrooms, replenishing, as needed
• Manage and report any lost and found items
• Remove debris and empty waste bins
• Wash windows, walls, and ceilings
• Clean changing rooms, shower areas, gym areas, and pool areas within the fitness/wellness center
• When required, respond to customer complaints or concerns
• Demonstrate a professional and positive presentation to guests and colleagues, and be well groomed
• Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:
• Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or a related field is preferred
• Familiarity with effective cleaning techniques, as well as safety and sanitation standards
• Comfortable working around a swimming pool, hot tub, and cold plunge area
• Exceptional attention to detail and observational skills
• Strong organizational abilities and effective time management skills
• A customer-focused attitude coupled with a spirit of cooperation and teamwork
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
