Founded in 1970, Steele Hotels is an independent hotel operator based out of Newfoundland and Labrador Canada. With origins in Gander, NL the company has grown to include 8 properties located in St. John’s, NL, Corner Brook, NL, and Fredericton, NB.

Steele Hotels is looking for a Bell Person to join our growing team at JAG Hotel in St. John’s, NL. The ideal candidate would possess a positive “can-do” attitude, and a high level of professionalism, coupled with a strong work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills. This often involves working in fast-paced environment conditions at varying times throughout the day or night.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

· Greet guests upon arrival and assist with the loading and unloading of luggage

· Walk guests to their rooms, providing information about hotel facilities and services

· Offer assistance to guests with special needs or requests

· Provide directions and recommendations for local attractions, restaurants, and services

· Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor, ensuring a positive guest experience

· Coordinate with front desk and other staff to manage guests’ arrivals and departures efficiently

· Assist with storage and retrieval of luggage for guests

· Handle guest inquiries and concerns in a professional manner, escalating the issue to management when necessary

· Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the lobby and entrance areas

· Uphold hotel policies and procedures, including security measures

· Demonstrate a professional and positive presentation to guests and colleagues, and be well groomed

· Perform other duties, as assigned

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes:

· Previous experience as a Bell Person, or in a similar guest services role is considered an asset

· Provide a clear Criminal Record Screening Certificate

· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

· Strong communication and organizational abilities

· Ability to stand for extended periods of time and comfortably lift and carry up to 50lbs

· Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
