Steele Hotels had the honor of being the recipient of the prestigious Joe and Clarice Goodyear Achievement award.

At the 17th Annual Gander and Area Chamber of Commerce Joe and Clarice Goodyear Business Achievement Awards Gala held on November 16th, Steele Hotels had the honor of being the recipient of the prestigious Joe and Clarice Goodyear Achievement award.

The Joe & Clarice Goodyear Business Achievement Award is awarded to a family business in the Gander area that reflects outstanding business achievement and dedication to the area, including active involvement in business and or professional associations. To be eligible for this award, nominees must operate in the Gander area and have been in business for at least three years.

Starting with the purchase of the Albatross Hotel in 1969 by Harry Steele and for the past 20+ years lead by the direction of son John, Steele Hotels has grown into a hugely successful Gander business which now stretches right across the province. Not only has Steele Hotels grown to become one of Gander’s largest employers but it is also one of its strongest supporters and corporate citizens. Through cash donations and in-kind contributions countless local charities, events, sporting groups, and causes have benefited from the generosity of Steele Hotels.

Accepting the award on behalf of Steele Hotels was Vice-President Rex Avery.
